About the Navy League Cadet Program
Navy League Goals
The Navy League of Canada administers the Navy League Cadet
program. This is a program for youth from 9 to 13 years of age. The goals of this
program are to develop good citizenship, patriotism, self-respect, discipline,
healthy living, and respect for others, in a nautical environment suited to
Navy League Program
We believe in a fun, participatory, environment where all youth
can be included. The variety of the program helps ensure there is something for
everyone. And most activities are free. The Navy League provides as much as
possible through our fundraising initiatives. This program cannot depend on government financial support. Cadets
may be asked to help with fundraising from time to time.
Cadets Canada Program
The Sea Cadet Program is the largest federally sponsored youth
program in Canada. It is a national program for young Canadians ages 12 to
18 who are interested in participating in a variety of challenging and
rewarding activities, and learning more about the Canadian Forces. This program
also needs the Navy League of Canada
involvement. For things like travel approval and insurance.
Parents Getting Involved
Now that my (pre) teenager has joined cadets, is there anything
that I can do? Of course there is !!! Fundraising is the key to a successful
corps, and the parent groups have fun, too.
There a small cost to join for Navy League of $45.00 per year. Cadets can
join any time of the year.
